Weight Loss Tips for Women

It’s no secret that men are different from women, yet we see so many diet regimes that don’t make the distinction between male and female’s propensities toward weight loss.
Because men and women made so differently, one thing might help a man lose weight but might do nothing for a women when she tries the exact same thing.
We’ve put together a list of ten different tips that have been specifically designed to help target the problem areas that make women gain weight:
1. Avoid Refined Sugar
Although it’s easier said than done, we really must remove these empty calories from our diets as much as we can. Sugars are most easily stored into fat and will make us feel hungrier as soon as our energy spike is over.
2. Drink Water
Even though we have smaller bladders, it is extremely important for women to stay hydrated, especially since your food can absorb water in your stomach, making you feel fuller from less food.
3. Train with Weights
You might be scared of becoming bulky, but the fact is that women don’t have enough testosterone to build up big muscles. More muscle mass will help increase tone and your metabolism.
4. Cook at Home
As much as you don’t like cooking meals at the end of a long day, restaurants are notorious for having meals that are heavily laden with flavorful fats and calories.
5. Use a Small Bowl or Plate
Our eyes are often too big for our diets, but they’re rarely bigger than our stomach. Studies have shown that if people have a bigger plate they will fill it with more food, and most often, finish all of that extra food.
6. Don’t Turn to Food to Handle Your Emotions
We know we are a little more emotional than our male counterparts, but this doesn’t mean that we have to turn to food to solve our woes. Call a friend, go on a walk, watch a movie, just don’t compound your sorrows by emptying the ice cream aisle.
7. Be Fair to Yourself
Even the strictest diets allow for some wiggle room. Don’t expect yourself to be perfect, because no one else is.
8. Don’t Be Self-Conscious
Just because you don’t feel like you know what you’re doing on a machine, or you don’t think gym clothes flatter your figure, you don’t have any excuse not to go pump some iron. Relax, no one is looking at you, and even if they are, any publicity is good publicity.
9. Eat Breakfast
No more skipping breakfast or just taking a few sips of coffee. By eating a substantial breakfast you kick your metabolism into gear, helping you burn more calories all day long.
10. Do the Math
We know, math is terrible. But most of the obesity in America is due to only overeating by about 100-150 calories a day, which is about half a soda. By counting how many calories versus how many calories you’re expending, you can make sure that you don’t wake up one day to realize that you’re 30 lbs overweight.
Sometimes we are more genetically determined to be overweight, and it can seem like everything we do to lose weight is in vain. But it’s important to remember that nothing is ever impossible.
