Hypnosis has been used supposedly for every possible benefit from smoking cessation to better sleep to greater weight loss. With hypnosis, they say that you will be able to reeducate the mind, remove the silent barriers that are holding you back, and it has been used and promoted by many celebrities such as Oprah, who said that it was supposed to help her to overcome the idea that told her that she was meant to be a big girl. Obviously, we all saw when Oprah really lost weight using weight loss shakes. She has an abnormally small bone structure.

This being said, the question is, there are many different methods for weight loss. Some have also used acupuncture, sticking needles in the ear in certain points to suppress appetite. But does hypnosis actually work? Hypnosis obviously works to hopefully alter the state of the mind, and many have found it extremely helpful in improving sleep patterns. It is most often used in shows. And some would even say that it could help you to lose a few pounds when combined with other programs such as diet pills, diet, and exercise. But how does it work?

There are many different companies selling weight loss related hypnosis. Hypnosis in and of itself is an altered state of mind. But by no means is it any kind of miracle weight loss treatment! You are given repeated verbal and mental images and messages. Your attention is highly focused on these, and they aim to help you with behavior modification. Of course, there is no fat burning, no appetite suppressing, etc. It is all about helping you with your own behavior modification to overcome old ideas you may have previously held onto.

When combined with other cognitive therapy for behavior modification, some have found hypnosis to be rather successful. But the question always becomes, which treatment is it that is actually promoting the weight loss? Some doctors have used hypnosis in combination with prescription diet pills. But in addition to that, you will find that they are also combining this with counseling and other methods of behavior modification.

Some would swear by hypnosis. Some would say that it is the only thing that actually worked for them. And others would claim that it is nothing more than a placebo effect. But either way, it seems that some believe that hypnosis will promote more weight loss results. And in some ways, it’s worth looking into.
