Foods for Weight Loss
Physicians and Nutritionists alike hammer into us that a healthy diet and regular exercise will keep us healthier and happier.
This is easy in enough in theory, but for those who like to sit on the couch watching TV and eating chips, eating healthy requires a dramatic change in lifestyle.
Personally, I think it takes way too much effort to cook up a steaming plate of freshly cooked veggies, let alone sit down and count calories. I like foods that are fast, easy…oh and did I say fast?
Easy to Cook, Easy to Eat
So for those who are looking an easy way to lose weight and incorporate healthy foods into your diet, we’ve come up with a list of easy-to-eat foods which will give you the extra boost you need to get up off the couch.
Eggs
It’s a given fact: I watch too much TV. So when I see the word eggs I immediately start humming the jingle “The incredible edible egg!” Scrambled, fried, sunny-side up—no matter how you cook them, eggs can help you trim off the inches and keep your heart healthy because they are loaded with nutrients. If you’re trying to cut down even more, however, stick to just the whites as they have the most protein.
Oats
When I’m in a hurry and looking for a meal that will keep me full for hours (unlike my favorite sugary cereals which leave me hungry after ten minutes), I grab the nearest packet of oatmeal. It takes less than a minute to microwave, and about the same time to eat it. Oats (the less processed the better) have loads of fiber to keep you feeling fuller for longer, which will mean less snacking later on.
Apples
The ideal on-the-go snack, Apples are low in calories but rich in antioxidants. Though the phrase has been “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”, it can easily be changed to “keeps the weight at bay.” Those who eat apples regularly tend to consume fewer calories during meals than those who opted for any other snack.
Yogurt
Mmm…Yogurt. It is so good for you. Not only is yogurt available in lunch-sized portions that fit so easily in a purse, but it does wonders for the ole digestive tract. Yogurt will keep blood sugar levels steady, staving off hunger and helping you to keep off those extra pounds.
Almonds
No. This is not an excuse to reach for that Hershey’s bar just because it happens to have almonds. However, almonds are an excellent way to curb hunger. Studies have shown that chewing more causes a greater release of fat (the good kind not the bad kind) from the almonds, which in turn triggers those hormones in charge of hunger. The less hungry you feel, the less likely you are to resort to grazing.
African Mango and Weight Loss Supplements
Now because I’m both cheap and lazy, I often don’t resort to using weight loss supplements. Many of the ingredients seem artificial and unhealthy if used incorrectly, and for the most part, they don’t work.
However, occasionally I find a product that is stimulant-free as well as uses natural ingredients that I actually recognize, such as African Mango and Green tea. Supplements for weight loss are easy to take (just pop a pill and I’m on my way), and they also give me the satisfaction of see the number on the bathroom scale drop every week or so.
IrvingiAppress
Although there are many African Mango weight loss supplements available on the market, IrvingiAppress has been the most effective so far. Recommended by Dr. Oz as a “miracle fruit”, African Mango not only helps to lose weight but also lowers LDL cholesterol and suppresses appetite.
Of course, after all is said and done-there is no real replacement for a healthy diet and regular exercise, even if African Mango is an effective way to lose weight. The surest and safest way may take more effort, but the results are always guaranteed.
